In Her Words

What I stand for .

I stand for growth that includes Virgin Islanders. When industries grow in this country, the people of this country should be participating in them, benefiting from them, leading them, and owning them. That is the standard.

I stand for the entrepreneurs, the young professionals, the tradespeople, and the women I have worked alongside for twenty-five years. The ones doing the work and wondering why the doors that open never quite reach them. I have been listening, and I am running because the questions they have been asking deserve answers.

I stand for the small business owner who should not face the same burdens as a multinational corporation. The Virgin Islander starting something should not be punished by a system built for someone with a legal team. Government checks compliance, not permission.

And most of all, I stand for preparing this country for what comes next. The future does not happen by accident. It happens because someone decides to build it. I am running because the country has been waiting too long for that decision to be made.

A Future That Works

02

Systems That Work

Janette has built businesses and brands across the region. She has lived the wait. Thirty-day business processing is not a bureaucratic detail. It is the difference between a Virgin Islander starting something and giving up before they finish trying. Government checks compliance, not permission. The systems exist to serve the people who built them.

03

Healthcare That Works

A working healthcare system is one of the clearest tests of whether a country is working for its people. Janette stands with the slate’s commitment to a system that meets families where they are. Care close to home, including for the Virgin Islanders on Virgin Gorda, Anegada, and Jost Van Dyke who currently have to take a boat to Tortola for the basics. An NHI rebalanced so a working household is not choosing between coverage and groceries.
The Platform

What Janette stands for .

Janette Brin has spent twenty-five years inside the work of building things. Eight years at the Maryland Department of Business and Economic Development, where she managed a $1.3 million annual marketing budget and watched a functional government run economic development as a measured operation, with jobs created, industries diversified, and outcomes tracked. Nine years in Virgin Islands telecoms, where she helped launch the territory’s first 4G LTE network and led community engagement programs that reached schools, businesses, and creatives across the country. Seven years at the BVI International Arbitration Centre, where she built workforce pathways to help Virgin Islanders move into a growing professional services industry.

Across government, telecoms, tourism, professional services, and entrepreneurship, she has spent twenty-five years asking the same question: when opportunity arrives, are Virgin Islanders participating in it, benefiting from it, leading it, and owning it? She founded Caribbean POSH to build a regional platform for women in business and culture, and the ICON Woman Awards to recognize the women doing the work. She is running because the questions she has been carrying for twenty-five years deserve answers, and because she believes Virgin Islanders are capable of building the future the country keeps talking about.
